I work as a life/business coach in UK, going to Thailand to travel. Is there demand for business/life coaches?

Executive Leadership Coaching

I have booked myself into a TEFL course. I have a Bachelors degree in English. I have a few years experience in corporate training, executive coaching and also personal coaching in the past year. I am happy enough to just teach english, but ideally I want to keep my coaching skills sharp and continue developing as a coach, even it’s just a handful of clients a week. Perhaps there’s a market for exPats thinking of returning to UK, US etc. and need help in developing a strategy for when they return, what to do etc. with their lives or the exective coaching side of things for business people in Bangkok, but I just don’t know.

Is a regular TEFL weekend course enough for good teaching positions?

It’s a new and emerging area [coaching] Corporate ethics in Thailand demand that the top guy is right, so you can coach middle managers all day but he’s still going to have to agree with the boss. TEFL isn’t necessary if you have a degree in English, but Thai managers are impressed by colorful papers covered with many shiny stamps. Why don’t you go to Singapore?

you’ll probably find a job but I wouldn’t say a ‘good’ position if you have no experience.

concentrate on your english teaching and buy the bangkok post or nation every day for advertised jobs……..thai authorities don’t like farang taking jobs from natives though
